Viet Environment Launches the “Lang Buong” Project: When Indigenous Knowledge Becomes the Foundation for a Sustainable Journey

  1. Strategic Vision: Environment Closely Connected with People

At MTVi, we go beyond our role as a consulting firm and comprehensive environmental solutions provider. Guided by the principle of sustainable development, we understand that an ecosystem can only truly thrive when the communities connected to it enjoy prosperity and self-reliance.
For this reason, the Buong Village Project was initiated—marking a breakthrough step for MTVi in integrating nature conservation with livelihood development, built upon the foundation of indigenous knowledge

  1. Buong Village – “Indigenous Knowledge, Sustainable Creation”

The Buong Village Project is not merely an economic initiative; it is a commitment to sustainable development. Centered around the Buong palm—a resilient symbol of the mountains and forests—the project aims to:

  • Preserve and revive traditional handicrafts made from leaves of Corypha lecomtei .
  • Develop a sustainable and eco-friendly product value chain.
  • Generate stable income for local communities, empowering them to remain connected to and protect their natural resources.

  1. Brand Identity of the Buong Village Project

The launch of the Buong Village brand identity marks a significant milestone, clearly reflecting the vision, mission, and sustainable development spirit that the project pursues.

At the heart of the logo is the image of the Corypha lecomtei leaf rising like a radiant sun, symbolizing vitality, indigenous knowledge, and the enduring resilience of the community. Beneath it, a supporting hand represents respect, preservation, and a long-term commitment to accompanying local people in safeguarding the Buông craft and promoting community-based economic development.

The circular form embracing the logo conveys harmony with nature, wholeness, and the aspiration to cultivate a sustainable ecosystem where people and nature coexist and thrive together.

A gradient green palette has been selected as the primary color scheme, representing the native environment, renewal, and hope for a green future—one in which traditional cultural values are preserved and continuously passed on.

The Buong Village brand identity is consistently applied across project documents, communication activities, events, seminars, workshops, as well as product packaging and labeling of Buong craft items. This cohesive implementation helps establish a strong and unified brand image while sharing the story of indigenous knowledge and the community that preserves and embodies these distinctive cultural values.

The Buong Village Project is a promise—a commitment to stand alongside indigenous knowledge, to honor traditional values, and to steadfastly pursue a path of sustainable development. From the humble Corypha lecomtei leaf, we believe a new journey is being sown—one where cultural heritage is celebrated and the natural environment is preserved in its integrity for future generations.
